Linda Mwananchi in Thika: Route plan revealed ahead of anticipated rally
Organisers of the Linda Mwananchi movement have unveiled the programme for their highly anticipated Thika tour scheduled for Sunday, June 14, as the political outfit continues its grassroots mobilisation campaign across the country.
The itinerary was shared by Siaya Governor James Orengo on Friday, June 12, 2026, who described himself as the Orange Democratic Movement’s (ODM) de facto party leader, outlining a full day of activities expected to culminate in a major public rally.
Linda Mwananchi Thika rally route plan
According to the schedule, the Linda Mwananchi team will begin the day with a church service at AIPCA Thika Cathedral at 10:00 a.m.
The delegation is then expected to proceed to Kivulini Grounds for a public rally starting at 1:00 p.m., where leaders are likely to address residents on governance, economic challenges, constitutional issues, and the movement’s broader political agenda.
The tour will conclude with a stopover in Githurai at 4:30 p.m., providing leaders with another opportunity to interact with supporters and residents.
The Thika meeting is expected to attract a host of opposition figures associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement, which has in recent months intensified political activities across different regions of the country.

The movement has increasingly positioned itself as a platform championing citizen rights, accountability, constitutionalism, and economic justice, themes that have featured prominently during its public engagements.
Sunday’s gathering comes amid growing political activity ahead of the 2027 General Election, with various political formations seeking to expand their influence and consolidate support in key voting blocs.
The decision to hold the rally in Thika is viewed as significant given the town’s strategic location within Kiambu County, in Mt Kenya, a region that remains politically influential in national politics.
The event is also expected to provide insight into the movement’s plans and leadership structure as speculation continues over possible alliances and political realignments ahead of the next election cycle.
In recent weeks, the Linda Mwananchi movement has gained increased visibility following the participation of several prominent political leaders and professionals, including former Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo, whose recent association with the movement fuelled speculation about her broader political ambitions.

Linda Mwananchi movement’s roadmap
Suba South Member of Parliament (MP) Caroli Omondi recently unveiled the Linda Mwananchi movement’s roadmap following its highly anticipated Thika rally as the outfit seeks to expand its footprint across the country.
Speaking during an interview on Kameme FM on Monday, June 8, 2026, the outspoken Azimio la Umoja secretary-general stated that the movement intends to intensify its engagements in the Mount Kenya region as part of a broader strategy to broaden its support base ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“Mwezi huu tuanenda kuingia Thika, mlango wa kuingia Mlima Kenya, kufanya rally kubwa, alafu baada ya hapo tutaenda Meru kutumbelea wenzetu wa Meru, alafu tutarudi Kisii na Homa Bay,” Caroli Omondi stated.
According to Omondi, the Thika rally will serve as the movement’s gateway into the vote-rich region.
He revealed that the team will then proceed to Meru County, where they are expected to be hosted by former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, who recently joined the movement, before shifting focus to Kisii County.
