Kenya Pipeline captain Gladys Ekaru named in KVF dream team

Kenya Pipeline skipper Gladys Ekaru was named among the most standout players as the Kenya Volleyball Federation 2024/25 season came to an end on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Nairobi.
The Malkia Strikers’ middle blocker led the former champions to the KVF title following the Oilers’ win over the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) on Saturday.
Ekaru was joined by teammate Loice Simiyu, who bagged the competition’s opposite hitter (right).

KCB libero Lincy Jeruto was named the best libero, pipping Pipeline’s Agripina Kundu.
DCI pair of Sharon Jeruto and Saran Namisi were named the best opposite hitter(Left) and best server, respectively.
Jeruto was among the standout performers, leading the sleuths team to a podium finish.
Taking to her social media after their triumph, Ekaru reveled in the season’s exploits, lauding the players, management, and fans for their immense role in the team reclaiming their title.
“To my incredible teammates — your discipline, resilience, unity, and fighting spirit are unmatched. Every block, every dig, and every serve was played with purpose. You gave your all, and today we reap the reward—champions,” she said.
“To our fans — whether in the gym or cheering from afar, your energy carried us through. Your chants, your love, your unshakable support… we felt every beat of it! You are truly part of this win.
“And to the entire Kenya Pipeline family and management — thank you for your continued investment, trust, and belief in women’s volleyball. You made sure we had what we needed to succeed both on and off the court..

This trophy is for all of us. It’s a symbol of unity, excellence, and the power of believing in each other,“ A jubilant Ekaru said in her parting shot.
On her part, Malkia striker Loice Simiyu said her recognition marks yet another milestone in her career.
“Being awarded the title of the best opposite player in the Kenya Volleyball Federation National League season 2024/2025 is not only an honor but also a significant milestone in my athletic career. This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion I have for volleyball. It is a testament to my commitment to improving my skills and contributing positively to my team,” she said.
Pipeline, under coach Geoffrey Omondi, reclaimed the title from defending champions KCB, who beat Kenya Prisons Queens on Saturday, June 7, 2025, to claim the third-place finish.
