KVF League: Pipeline and DCI set early pace ahead of Day 2
Kenya Pipeline and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) women’s volleyball teams have emerged as the early pacesetters after the opening day of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The two are joined by Postbank Kenya among the teams leading the standings with 3 points following a dominant start to the league season.
Pipeline dispatched the Kenya Army in three straight sets on Friday to open their campaign on a winning note.
DCI returnees
The Oilers marked the victorious run, winning the sets 25–9, 25–14, and 25–12.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations dismissed Nairobi Prisons 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, and 25-19) during the first-leg clash played on Friday.
Jemimah Siang’u and Marion Indeche proved a handful for the Nairobi outfit, on their return to action from spells on the sidelines after their maternity leave.

The pair was dearly missed last season in the Kenya Volleyball League as the Sleuths finished runners-up behind winners Kenya Pipeline.
In the opening day highlight, former champions Kenya Prisons came from a set down to dispatch rivals KCB Women’s Volleyball 3-2.
The captivating five-set thriller at the Nyayo stadium gymnasium provided an enticing display of sibling rivalry, with Prisons’ Pauline Itoo coming up against Malkia Striker’s opposite hitter Terry Tata, who features for the bankers.
Outside hitter Mercy Cherono claimed the match plaudits for the Prisons with her hard-hitting attacks that proved decisive in snapping the KCB blocks and ultimate win for Josp Barasa’s girls.
Next games
In Saturday’s fixtures played earlier, Post Bank, who beat Kenyatta University 3-0 on Friday, continued their fine run, winning their second match against A -Plus in three straight sets.
The Bankers were joined by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, who also beat Kenyatta University to extend their perfect record.
Prisons will now play defending champions Kenya Pipeline on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The clash will kick off at 4:00 pm.
Meanwhile, KCB will hope a day’s rest does well to calm their nerves before they take on Nairobi Prisons on Sunday.
