KVF League: Prisons succumb to Pipeline’s resilience in thrilling duel
Kenya Volleyball side Kenya Pipeline mounted a spirited fightback from two sets down to silence rivals Kenya Prisons 3-2 in athrilling Kenya Volleyball league match staged this Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Nyayo National Stadium.
Pipeline approached the clash on a winning start after defeating the Kenya Army in Friday’s opener but showed early nervousness, losing the first two sets on scores of 16-25 and 23-25.
Prisons were off the blocks first in the first two sets thanks to watertight blocks from Anne Lowen and Immaculate Chemtai.
Oilers fight back
The Oilers came firing on all cylinders in the third set to claim a massive game changer of 25-20 victory, thanks to tactical substitutions that saw experienced outside hitter Noel Murambi entering the fray.
Geoffrey Omondi’s charges went on to level the tie in the fourth set on a 25-18 scoreline.
In the decisive set, the defending champions continued dominating as they took an early lead and built on the advantage to shut the door on their rivals.
The result comes after former champions, Prisons, came from a set down to dispatch rivals KCB Women’s Volleyball 3-2 in Friday’s clash at Nyayo Stadium.

The captivating five-set thriller at the Nyayo stadium gymnasium provided an enticing display of sibling rivalry, with Prisons’ Pauline Itoo coming up against Malkia Striker’s opposite hitter Terry Tata, who features for the bankers.
Outside hitter Mercy Cherono claimed the match plaudits for the Prisons with her hard-hitting attacks that proved decisive in snapping the KCB blocks and ultimate win for Josp Barasa’s girls.
Results
In Saturday’s fixtures played earlier, Post Bank, who beat Kenyatta University 3-0 on Friday, continued their fine run, winning their second match against A -Plus in three straight sets.
The Bankers were joined by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, who also beat Kenyatta University to extend their perfect record.
Prisons will now play defending champions Kenya Pipeline on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The clash will kick off at 4:00 pm.
Meanwhile, KCB will hope a day’s rest does well to calm their nerves before they take on Nairobi Prisons on Sunday.
