The Dala 7s rugby tournament kicked off on Saturday with Kenya Cup sides KCB Rugby, Mwamba, and Strathmore Leos, being standout performers who secured their spots in the Sunday quarterfinals after registering a flawless record in the group stage matches.

All three clubs displayed their dominance by winning all their respective pool matches, accumulating a perfect nine points each. Nakuru RFC also put up a commendable performance, topping Pool C with eight points, courtesy of two wins and a draw.

Dala 7s quarters

With the group stage now concluded, the quarterfinal matchups have been confirmed for the highly anticipated Sunday matches.

Nakuru RFC have landed a date against Kenya Harlequin in a 10:40 AM kick-off while Mwamba will tackle Kabras at 11:00 AM.

Strathmore Leos will face Homeboyz at 11:20 AM and KCB will play Menengai Oilers 11:40 AM

The matches are expected to showcase intense competition as the teams vie for a spot in the semifinals and ultimately, the coveted Dala 7s title.

The tournament’s opening day witnessed several exciting encounters. Some of the notable results include Menengai Oilers securing a 19-14 victory over Catholic Monks, Nakuru RFC drawing 14-14 with Nondescripts, and KCB Rugby dominating Mombasa with an impressive 36-0 win.

Other closely contested matches saw Kenya Harlequin narrowly defeating Masinde Muliro 21-17, Strathmore Leos emerging victorious with a 17-5 scoreline against Kisumu, and Kabras Sugar edging past Daystar Falcons with a thrilling 21-19 win.

Homeboyz managed to secure a hard-fought 12-10 victory against Makueni, while Mwamba displayed their prowess by defeating Western Bulls 12-7 in the opening round.

In the second round, Menengai Oilers emerged victorious with a commanding 22-7 win. Nakuru displayed their dominance with a strong performance, defeating Monks 19-7.

KCB Rugby continued their winning streak as they triumphed over Masinde Muliro with a convincing 22-7 victory.

Kenya Harlequins displayed their prowess on the field by defeating Mombasa with a scoreline of 17-5.

Strathmore Leos continued their impressive form as they secured a 22-7 win against Daystar Falcons.

Kabras Sugar demonstrated their superiority with a dominant performance, overpowering Kisumu with a resounding 27-5 win.

Dala 7s round three

Homeboyz defeated Western Bulls with a commanding 36-12 win while Mwamba beat Makueni 29-10.

The final round saw Nondies bounce back from their earlier defeat and secured a convincing 24-0 win against Catholic Monks.

Masinde Muliro narrowly defeated by Mombasa, with a close scoreline of 17-14. The clash between Menengai Oilers and Nakuru ended a narrow 12-7 win for Nakuru.

In a highly anticipated match, KCB Rugby defeated Kenya Harlequin with a hard-fought 12-7 victory.

Strathmore Leos continued their impressive run with a commanding 20-7 win against Kabras Sugar while Mwamba beat Homeboyz 20-7.
