KCB rugby names travelling squad for Embu Sevens
Christie 7s defending champions KCB Rugby Club has unveiled its travelling squad for the upcoming Embu Sevens tournament, scheduled for Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24, 2025 at the ASK Showgrounds, Njukiri.
The bankers, who remain one of the dominant forces in the National Sevens Circuit, will head into the tournament with a strong blend of experienced internationals and promising youngsters.
The 14-man squad includes speedster Vincent Onyala, playmaker George Ooro, and the versatile Elvis Olukusi, all of whom bring experience and flair to the team. Rising stars such as Samuel Asati, Brian Wahinya, and Festus Shiasi also make the cut, adding depth and dynamism to the squad.
Other players listed in the travelling team are Floyd Wabwire, Emmanuel Opondo, Stephen Osumba, Bob Muhati, Brian Kilwake, Austin Sikutwa, Michael Wekesa, and Clyde Kimaya.
The Embu Sevens is the fourth leg of the ongoing National Sevens Circuit. The tournament will draw top-flight teams from across the country as they battle for supremacy in the Kenya Rugby Union Sevens Series. Meanwhile, after winning the 2025 Christie 7s last weekend, they will be seeking to stretch their winning streak at Embu Sevens in Pool A.
