Kakamega Homeboyz appoints Manoah as head coach after firing Mwalala
NAIROBI: Kakamega town-based Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz have appointed Edward Manoah as the head coach after sacking Benard Mwalala.
Team Manager Boniface Imbenzi said the players are now fully settled and looking forward to the start of the league. “Sometimes when the club undergoes transition due to a change of guard, it affects the playing unit, something we experienced shortly after the departure of Mwalala. But I must say we are proud of the progress the team is making under Manoah,” he said. He added: “Players are very much motivated and have shown a great improvement and character. As we still look out for other options in terms of coaching we believe the team is now fully stabilized and we look forward to a strong start when the league starts.” He urged the players to give their best in their quest to realize their dream of helping the team clinch the Premier League title for the first time. Imbenzi also prevailed upon the new administration at the Ministry of Sports to move with speed and return sanity to football so that Fifa can lift its ban, and allow the players to showcase their skills and their careers by joining major clubs across the world. In the meantime, Manoah has expressed gratitude to the club management for the great support he has received and vowed to give his best to help the team achieve its objectives.Manoah coached Vihiga Bullets before joining Kakamega Homeboyz.
