Homeboyz defender Brian Eshihanda to miss clash against Mara Sugar

Kakamega Homeboyz has been handed an injury setback ahead of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) match week 19 clash against Mara Sugar on Sunday, January 2, 2025 in Mumias.
The club has confirmed that assistant captain Brian Eshihanda has been ruled out of the tie.
Eshihanda sustained a deep cut just above his left eye during their previous clash against Gor Mahia, but defied the injury as he helped the team to claim a point.
Patrick Odhiambo’s team is however been handed the boost with news of the return of Peter Thiong’o. Thiong’o has resumed individual training after missing a couple of weeks through injury.
The former Gor Mahia man will however not be joining the team immediately as he steps up his fitness levels before rejoining the rest of the team.

Eshihanda has been among the club’s mainstays and a key component of the team’s leadership group. Despite playing as a defender, his input at both ends of the goal has repeatedly proved crucial to Homeboyz.
The defender played a key role as the team ended its long wait for silverware with the FKF Cup on July 1, 2023. The feat saw him attract interest from top PL sides including AFC Leopards.
Leopard’s quest to sign the defender in 2023 was however countered after the club chairman Cleophas Shaimanyula slapped a hefty Ksh15 million prize tag on the defender.
He earned his maiden call-up to the national team in 2024.
