Harambee Starlets have left the country ahead of their planned friendly against Ivory Coast.

Starlets left on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, ahead of the first friendly scheduled for Friday, April 4, before the second one on Tuesday, April 7. These matches serve as preparation for their upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Gambia later this year.

“Our goal with these friendlies is to assess our progress, pinpoint areas for improvement, and strengthen our team. That’s why I’ve made only minimal changes to the squad from the Tunisia camp—to get a clearer picture of where we stand,” head coach Beldine Odemba said.

Meanwhile, the U17 side left for Morocco for two friendlies against the host nation. Their first match is set for Friday and the second on Monday.

The Kenya U17 team is gearing up for the final round of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon this month. The first leg will take place on April 20, with the return fixture scheduled a week later.

Junior Starlets head coach Mildred Cheche explained why her side needed these friendlies.

“Our ultimate goal is to qualify for the World Cup, and these matches are crucial in helping us build a strong, competitive team. Cameroon is a formidable opponent, so we need to be at our best,” Cheche stated.
