Ghanaian striking pair joins Gor Mahia ahead of new season
Record 21-time Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia FC has unveiled two more players ahead of the new season.
In a separate update on its Facebook page on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Gor Mahia revealed that striker Ebenezer Adukwa and midfielder George Amonno have joined the club, each on a two-year deal.
Both players are of Ghanaian origin, as the club’s new coach, Charles Akkonor
“We are pleased to announce the signing of winger Ebenezer Adukwa from Ghana on a two-year deal,” Gor’s statement on welcoming Adukwa read.
The striker joins K’Ogalo from his native club, Bechem United. He also had a brief stint at the Kosovo Superliga side KF Trepca 89.
Signing spree
The signings are part of a wider recruitment drive at the club following parting ways with a number of players in recent times.
Ugandan Charles Bbaale was the last casualty of the purge at Gor Mahia, with the club agreeing to part ways with the player on a mutual basis on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

The Ugandan striker had previously featured for Rwandese side Ryon Sports and SC Villa in Uganda. Despite his potential, limited playing time and fierce competition for spots meant Bbaale was unable to make the impact and played second fiddle to the likes of Benson Omalla.
George Bendeka, a Congolese import from Rwanda, was also shipped out.
His exit added to the mass exodus that saw Rodgers Ouma join the attacking pair of Boniface Omondi and Samuel Onyango, two long-serving players, depart the team ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The restructuring coincided with the appointment of coach Charles Akkonor, who took the reins at K’Ogalo on Friday afternoon, August 1, 2025.
Akkonor 51, took over on a two-year contract moments after the club had sent its entire technical bench, led by coach Zedekiah Otieno, packing after a dismal end to the season that saw Gor finish trophyless.
The Ghanaian arrives with a decorated resume both as a former player and coach, having captained the Black Stars and featured prominently for Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg between 1998 and 2003, making 121 appearances and scoring 13 goals.
Among the new arrivals at the club are the Harambee Stars pair of Michael Kibwage, Lewis Bandi, formerly with AFC Leopards.
