FKF PL Preview: Resurgent AFC Leopards eye Mathare United’s scalp for third league victory
AFC Leopards seek to make it three successive league wins as they target Mathare United’s scalp in a Football Kenya Premier League round seven match this Sunday, November 2, 2025.
The clash will kick off at 3:00 pm at the Nyayo National Stadium.
After a slow start, Ingwe appears to have rediscovered its form, with two wins in its last games, seeing the former giants up to fifth on the log with nine points.
First win
Ingwe broke their league duck against Robert Matano’s KCB before a late, surreal 2-1 win away to an in-form Shabana FC on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, which laid further credence to their resurgent quest.
The fixtures are coming hard and fast for the Slum Boys, eager to get their act together with consistent results after the 2-0 defeat to Gor Mahia.
Mathare United midfielder Mohamed Kilume has urged the team to move on from their poor run of form and make amends against the former giants.

“We played well against Gor Mahia; only that the result was not on our side. We don’t have time to dwell on the loss. We need to regroup ahead of the next clash against Leopards,” he told the club’s portal.
Eyeing for consistency
Kilume opined on the outcome of the clash against Ingwe, urging that it all depends on their players’ approach.
The outcome of the tie will depend on what we do as players. We can either make it hard or easy on ourselves. It will be an intense game; we only have to maintain our composure levels,” he added.
After six league games, Slum Boys have so far garnered two wins and suffered defeat three times.
Head-to-head
After edging Shabana FC in their Sunday, October 26, 2025, clash, John Kamau’s inconsistent team slumped to a midweek 2-0 defeat to Gor Mahia.
Ingwe heads into the clash on a morale-boosting run and with a better head-to-head record, having edged Mathare in both of their meetings last season.
The Fred Ambani side won seven, while Mathare United have recorded three wins across their last ten meetings. The hosts won both legs in the previous campaign, scoring seven while conceding once.
