Leopards and APS Bomet pick first league wins
AFC Leopards and APS Bomet finally broke their respective league ducks with crucial victories in the Football Kenya Premier League match Day five fixtures played this Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Fred Ambani’s Ingwe edged KCB 2-1 to clinch their first league win as League newcomers APS Bomet stunned Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 at the Kasarani Annex.
Maiden wins
Boniface Munyendo and Christopher Koloti delivered the goal for Leopards against the Robert Matano side, who thought they had done enough to snatch a point after pulling level before the break.
The visitors felt hard done moments before Munyendo’s opener after their defender went down from a challenge from AFC attacker.
The referee, however, deemed the challenge fair as Leopards went on to grab the opener.
A couple of changes in the final half from Ambani proved pivotal in dictating the match outcome.
Ronald Sicheneje, one of Ambani’s halftime changes, set the ball on the plate for fellow new entrant, Koloti, for the 72nd-minute match winner.
The victory, Ingwe’s first this season, came in their fifth time of asking, proving key to calm the growing discontent among the club fans and management.
Sharks mauled
Meanwhile, at the Kasarani Annex, Duncan Mogasa and Philip Wasai scored in the space of three minutes as APS Bomet picked up their first top-flight league win against hosts Sharks.
William Muluya’s charges had taken the lead through Mark Vivian Kesa in the eighth minute.
An anticlimactic ending to the game, however, saw the visitors score twice in a surreal final five minutes plus added time to upeend the struggling slum-based team.
Earlier on at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County, Kakamega Homeboyz moved temporarily to the top of the pile following a 3-1 win over Ulinzi Stars.
The tie proved bittersweet for Henry Omolo, who stormed Homeboyz to a lead before being sent to an early shower in the second half for a second bookable offense.
Omolo opened the scores after 24 minutes. The former Nairobi United attacker continued his scoring streak from a left wing cross past Slvaine Ricks Otieno at Ulinzi Stars goal.

The Abana Be Ingo doubled their lead immediately after the restart as Omolo turned the creator for Josphat Lopaga, whose low cross was swept home by Hillary Otieno.
The visitors threatened to comeback to the tie after Harambee Stars ace Boiface Muchiri coolly picked his spot past Edwin Mukolwe from a well-taken free kick outside the box.
The soldier lobbed his strike past the wall and a flat-footed Mukolwe to halve the deficit.
The comeback was, however, curtailed as Eston Esiye silenced visitors with ten minutes left, showing his own style from a dead ball as Muchiri had done.
The lanky midfielder sent a low drill past the wall and the keeper for Homeboyz’s third goal and the win.
Speaking after the clash, Ulinzi Coach Dunstan Nyaudo addressed starting his star man, Muchuiri, from the substitute bench.
“I will continue to do that as he is still recovering. He has barely rested but he came in and continued his brilliance. It is unfortunate that we could not complete the comeback,” he stated
