FKF PL: 9 matches set for midweek as league enters penultimate stage
The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) is set to enter its penultimate stage, with all 18 teams in action on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
With crucial points at stake, the matches are expected to be fiercely contested as teams jostle for position on the league table.
FKF PL early kickoff
Three matches are slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. Muhoroni Youth will face Nzoia Sugar at Mumias Complex.
Nzoia Sugar’s relegation was confirmed before the international break, while Muhoroni Youth are still fighting to climb out of the relegation zone.
Sofapaka FC, sitting 16th on the log with 32 points, will take on Nairobi City Stars at Dandora Stadium. Batoto Ba Mungu are desperately chasing points to avoid falling into the relegation playoff zone.
Kariobangi Sharks will play against Ulinzi Stars at Police Sacco. Meanwhile, Shabana, also in the safety hunt, will meet Bidco United at Raila Odinga Stadium.
At 3:00 p.m., Posta Rangers will face Tusker FC at Thika Stadium. Champions Gor Mahia FC, who secured the title just before the international break, will play against FC Talanta.
Evening Encounters
Two matches are scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. kick-off. Kenya Police will take on Bandari FC at Police Sacco Stadium, while AFC Leopards will clash with KCB at Dandora Stadium.
As it stands, Gor Mahia FC lead the table with 70 points, having won 20 matches. Tusker FC are in second place with 59 points, followed by Kenya Police in third with 55 points.
Nairobi City Stars hold fourth position with 49 points, while Bandari FC complete the top five with 48 points.
Kariobangi Sharks, AFC Leopards, and Posta Rangers are tied on 47 points, making their upcoming matches critical for improving their league standings.
