AFC Leopards skipper Kennedy Owino assures fans of a win against Posta Rangers
AFC Leopards captain Kennedy Owino has assured the club faithful of maximum points when Ingwe takes on Posta Rangers in the fourth round of the 2025/2026 Kenyan Premier League season at the Dandora Stadium on Friday afternoon, October 3, 2025.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Owino, who featured for Rangers before joining Leopards last season, has admitted that the playing unit did not impress in the opening fixture of the campaign when Fred Ambani’s charges drew 1-1 with 2009 KPL winners Sofapaka on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
The skipper further revealed that AFC Leopards went back to the drawing board and rectified the mistakes they made in the Sofapaka clash.
”We did not play well in our first match, but at least we got a point and we thank God for that. Going into this fixture, we have rectified the areas where we did not do well, generally as a team. We have prepared very well going into the second fixture, knowing very well that Posta have started the season perfectly,” Owino said.

Leopards-Rangers head-to-head
AFC Leopards have played Posta Rangers 25 times. In that period, Ingwe have scored 32 goals and conceded 20 against the Mailmen. The biggest AFC Leopards win against Posta Rangers came in 2012 when they trashed their Friday’s opponent 6-2 at the Mumias Sports Complex. On that day, Jimmy Bageya and Victor Ochieng grabbed a brace. Allan Wanga and Martin Imbalambala scored a goal each.
Posta Rangers have started the new KPL campaign on a high note after recording two back-to-back wins, winning 2-1 against Mathare United in their season opener and recording a similar scoreline against Tusker in their second outing of the season.
However, Kennedy Owino has confirmed that AFC Leopards are wary of Posta Rangers’ threat, further assuring the fans that the team is motivated to bounce back with a decent performance against the Sammy (Pamzo) Omollo charges.
”We have to respect their stellar start, but we are ready as AFC Leopards. After the opening fixture, we sat down as players to reflect on the performance and realised where we went wrong. I think we are going out to rectify the mistakes. We are motivated, the management and the fans are there for us, and I believe the motivation is high. To the fans, we apologise for not winning in our previous fixture, but we urge you to rally behind us and we will deliver three points,” Kennedy Owino added.
The particular tie will kick off at 4:00 pm local time at Dandora Stadium, Nairobi.
