AFC Leopards out to stretch lead as FKF Premier League resumes
The Football Kenya Federation Premier League leaders, AFC Leopards, will be out seeking to extend their commendable run in the new season and stretch their lead in the standings as action resumes after a brief holiday break.
League organisers have lined up several high-profile matches in the first week of January 2026, with Ingwe taking on Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday, January 4, 2026, starting at 4:00 pm at Nyayo National Stadium as one of the highlighted fixtures.
Ingwe out to stretch lead
AFC Leopards will be aiming to increase their point tally to 27 in 14 outings with a win. However, they face a very tricky side of Homeboyz, who are placed 6th on the log with 21 points, having played one more match than the Leopards.
At Gusii Stadium, Shabana FC will host Nairobi United in a 2:00 pm kickoff, a match expected to draw massive support from the passionate Kisii football faithful. Shabana are fourth on the log with 23 points in 14 outings. On the other hand, the visiting Nairobi United, who recently revamped their technical bench, will be aiming to drag themselves out of the danger zone with a win.

Naibois aiming to rise
Naibois are placed 13th in the league standings with 16 points, having played 10 matches in the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season.
The rescheduled fixtures will continue on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, as Kariobangi Sharks lock horns with reigning giants Gor Mahia at Kasarani Stadium. The eagerly awaited clash will kick off at 4:00 pm, with Gor Mahia aiming to assert their dominance while Sharks seek to upset the champions.

The final match in the rescheduled lineup will be played on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, when Nairobi United return to action against AFC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium, also starting at 4:00 pm. The fixture offers Nairobi United a chance to test themselves against one of the league’s traditional heavyweights, while Ingwe will be keen to maintain momentum.
All the rescheduled matches will be broadcast live on TV. As the 2025/26 SportPesa League season intensifies, these fixtures are expected to play a key role in shaping the standings, with teams eager to start the new year on a strong note.
