FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards beat Ulinzi Stars 2-1 in a pre-season friendly played on Friday at Ulinzi Complex.

The encounter showcased a blend of fresh talents as both sides introduced new faces into their lineups.

AFC Leopards field newbies

AFC Leopards took to the field with new signings including goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi, Brian Mandela (formerly Mwatate), Emmanuel Lwanga, Boniface Munyendo, Kevin Kimani, and Yassin Sije among the starters.

Meanwhile, Ulinzi Stars coached by former AFC Leopards coach Anthony Kimani fielded Dennis Magige, Omar Somobwana, Benjamin Mosha, Faraj Ominde, Nicholas Omondi, Ben Stanley Omondi, and Michael Wanyika.

Ulinzi Stars secured an early lead in the 10th minute as Enosh Ochieng converted a penalty, putting them ahead. The team held on to their advantage until the halftime whistle.

AFC Leopards score twice

In the second half, AFC Leopards intensified their efforts, resulting in a well-orchestrated play. Yassin Sije delivered a skilful cross, setting up Jaffari Owiti’s precise header, equalizing the score at 1-1.

As the clock ticked past the hour mark, Boniface Munyendo’s powerful strike deflected off an opponent, finding its way into the net and clinching the victory for AFC Leopards.

AFC Leopards faced a challenge when Kayci Odhiambo received a red card, forcing them to conclude the match with one player short.
