Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament (MP) Kabando wa Kabando has called for inclusivity in the fresh bipartisan talks between Azimio la Umoja -One Kenya coalition and the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Taking to his X account, formerly known as Twitter, the politician stated that the talks should uphold democracy in accordance with the constitution. He also stated that the talks that which will be facilitated by former Olusegun Obasanjo should address key issues such as the cost of living, corruption and impunity.

“Pertaining dialogue, we’d avoid being caged in a Raila-Ruto adversity. Article 1, Chapter 4 & Chapter 6 of CoK are hallmarks of our governance. This is where democracy is rooted. All else will fall in place if these are upheld. We need a multi-sectoral approach, inclusivity.

“By multisectoral/inclusivity, we mean an integrated dialogue on cross-cutting issues to address #CostOfLivingCrisis, corruption, and impunity. We do recognise that Ruto is President & Raila is our de facto leader of opposition. We don’t support any mutilation of CoK2010,” he wrote.

Kabando’s remarks comes ahead of the anticipated bpartisan talks between the government and the opposition.

Earlier, President William Ruto had announced that the Kenya Kwanza team was gearing up for talks with the opposition to resolve the conflict between the two factions.

“Our engaging our friends in the Opposition, we agreed that all leaders past, present and future that violence, destruction of property will not be in the equation in the republic of Kenya, we are democratic country we can talk to,” Ruto said on Sunday.

“As the head of the government is obligated to make sure that every Kenyan, whether they support policies or not, their property is protected and that there is peace in the country, and I have given a commitment that there will be no violence in Kenya,” he added.
