Wamalwa: In the UDA-ODM talks, Wetang’ula will not be included anywhere
Eugene Wamalwa has told National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula that the upcoming United Democratic Alliance (UDA) talks with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will not include Ford Kenya.
During an interview with a local radio station on Thursday, March 26, 2026, the outspoken former defence minister said that President William Ruto is determined to form the next government, which, according to Wamalwa, will be a UDA–ODM administration, with Ford Kenya excluded.

He criticised the current struggles within Ford Kenya, noting that Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, who has been issuing threats to constituent parties of Kenya Kwanza to fold and join UDA, warning that those who fail to do so will be left out of post-election power-sharing arrangements and the division of high-profile seats.
According to Wamalwa, this is a clear indication that Ford Kenya’s interests in the coalition are uncertain. He described the recent response by the Ford Kenya secretary general to the calls for the party to fold as “the kicks of a dying horse”.
“In 2027, it is going to be UDA-ODM talks. Moses Wetang’ula will not be included anywhere. There is nothing for the Luhya nation in the coming talks, which is the reason why Ford Kenya is being fought,” he said.
Wamalwa further urged that, since the interests of the Luhya nation are not represented in the upcoming coalition, the Democratic Action Party–Kenya (DAP-K) should become the preferred party for the community.
Political analyst Herman Manyora has advised National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula to fold his Ford Kenya Party and join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

While speaking during his daily analysis on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the embattled political analyst stated that Ford Kenya is now “dead” and can no longer survive.
“If I meet Wetang’ula, I will advise him to fold his FORD-K party and join UDA,” he said.
He added that the influence the party once enjoyed has waned, and the support it used to boast of has been taken away by emerging politicians in the region.
To him, this includes Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, who he says have managed to reduce the Wetang’ula-led party to a village-level outfit.
