Political analyst Herman Manyora has advised National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula to fold his Ford Kenya Party and join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

While speaking during his daily analysis on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the embattled political analyst stated that Ford Kenya is now “dead” and can no longer survive.

“If I meet Wetang’ula, I will advise him to fold his FORD-K party and join UDA,” he said.

FORD-K waning influence?

He added that the influence the party once enjoyed has waned, and the support it used to boast of has been taken away by emerging politicians in the region. To him, this includes Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, who he says have managed to reduce the Wetang’ula-led party to a village-level outfit.

Manyora urged the National Assembly Speaker to take notes from Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who folded his Amani National Congress (ANC) and joined the UDA party. According to Manyora, Mudavadi realised that his party had died, as even leaders in Mudavadi’s home county now belong to different parties from what used to be his ANC.

“Mudavadi was very realistic; he looked at his ANC and saw that it can barely survive, and that is how he decided to fold it and join UDA,” he argued.

Manyora went on to spell doom for Wetang’ula, telling him that his party cannot get anybody elected and even risks failing to produce a Member of Parliament in 2027.

Ford Kenya woes

This comes at a time when Ford Kenya is facing multiple calls to fold and join UDA.

This prompted a sharp reaction from the party’s secretary general, John Chikati, who issued a statement declining to fold their outfit and questioning UDA, asking why it has resorted to fighting the very parties that helped it win the 2022 elections.

He specifically faulted Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, who had demanded that Ford Kenya fold their party or risk being excluded from the 2027 post-election negotiations and power-sharing arrangements. Chikati questioned the sentiments from Cherargei, saying that he was appearing to be referring to some top leaders in the FORD Kenya Party.

Earlier, Mudavadi, after folding his ANC, also urged Wetang’ula to follow suit and join UDA, warning that failure to do so could shape the future political dynamics against him.
