Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee Party leader have on Friday, September 26, 2025, joined Jubilee Party delegates at the National Delegates Conference (NDC) held at Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.

Uhuru arrived in the company of former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni noted their presence as a strong signal of unity and leadership cohesion within the party.

Jubilee’s Deputy Organising Secretary Pauline Njoroge earlier had lauded Kenyatta, saying through her X handle, “It’s Uhuru’s Day! Today, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta officially takes charge of the Jubilee Party, charting the way forward after nearly two and a half years of relentless battles following an attempted illegal takeover of the party.”

The conference, which drew delegates and supporters from across the country, is seen as a pivotal moment for Kenyatta to assert authority and guide the party back into national relevance.

Speculation is rife that the NDC could also signal Jubilee’s preference for a 2027 presidential flag bearer, with former Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i said to be engaging party loyalists behind the scenes.

However, Njoroge emphasised that Friday’s spotlight remained firmly on Kenyatta, whose address is widely anticipated to chart a renewed direction for Jubilee.
