President Uhuru expected to campaign for Raila again as he heads to Samburu county
President Uhuru Kenyatta is today Wednesday, July 13, 2022, expected in Samburu county for official government business even though of late he has used such trips to campaign for Raila Odinga.
On Tuesday, Uhuru campaigned for the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate in Nairobi while presiding over the issuance of title deeds at Muhuri Muchiri Stadium.
The President said Raila and his running mate Martha Karua are leaders of integrity while urging Kenyans to vote for the duo.
Uhuru to issue title deeds in Samburu
The President is today expected to issue additional title deeds to Samburu pastoralists ahead of his retirement next month.
Uhuru is racing against time to accomplish the National Titling Programme, one of the major pillars of his administration.
“The President will issue additional titles to locals in his National Titling Programme. He is also expected to commission several legacy projects in this region,” Samburu County Commissioner Henry Wafula said.
Uhuru will also commission the multibillion-shilling Naibor-Suguta-Maralal road during his Samburu tour.
“The historical road is also one of the projects the President will commission on Wednesday. This is the first tarmac road in this region,” Wafula added.
The completion of the 65km road raises hopes of eradicating problems facing the business community, besides boosting the economic status of Maralal.
The President’s itinerary shows he will make several stopovers to address locals. It’s expected that Uhuru could use the opportunity to once again campaign for his preferred successor Raila Odinga.
