Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi has defended Governor Mike Sonko against corruption allegations and accused the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) of going for the wrong people.  

Elachi claimed EACC was fighting corruption selectively, adding that it went for innocent people leaving out high-profile individuals implicated in mega scandals. She claimed EACC has introduced drama and witch hunting in its war on corruption.

Speaking at Esibembe Girls Secondary School in Butula constituency, Elachi vowed to support Sonko in delivering services to Nairobi residents. She urged residents of  Western region to read the BBI report keenly to enable them make an informed decision.
