Ruto to reveal broad-based govt achievements on Tuesday
President William Ruto has announced that the broad-based government, formed through cooperation between his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), will present a report on its achievements to Kenyans on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
The announcement came during his visit to Bondo in Siaya County on Sunday, March 8, 2026, where he addressed locals and defended the partnership forged following the March 7, 2025, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the late Raila Odinga.
Speaking at the event, President Ruto emphasised the strength and equality of the alliance. “The party of ODM and the party leader, and the leadership of ODM. I did commit that we are going to be faithful to our relationship. It is going to be a relationship of equals.
It is going to be a relationship with a win-win outcome,” he said. He invited citizens, including critics, “naysayers and noisemakers,” to follow the presentation.
“We know where we want to take this country. We have executed the 10-point agenda and we have a report to the members of our political parties and to the people of Kenya of what has been done, what has been achieved in devolution, what has been achieved in inclusion, what has been achieved in the fight against corruption, what has been achieved in making government effective, and what has been achieved in making sure that we deal with the challenges that came with demonstrations and all the other issues.”

ODM highlights progress
The 10-point agenda, derived from the NADCO report and the MoU, addresses national priorities including devolution, inclusion, anti-corruption, government efficiency, and post-demonstration challenges. Ruto said the report captures the “reality of our nation” and highlights tangible progress.
Supporting this narrative, Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga, speaking at a church service in Bondo on the same day, dismissed critics of the ODM-UDA framework. He said the March 7 date marked an anniversary for an interim review, not a deadline for collapse. “Some people were saying that the 10-point agenda is coming to an end on the seventh.
I want to tell my people that the seventh was chosen deliberately because it was the anniversary of the broad-based government,” he said.
Oburu highlighted Parliament’s approval of Ksh415 billion in devolved funds to counties, with efforts underway to raise it to Ksh450 billion. “Devolution cannot be strengthened without giving them money. You have to devote money,” he added.
Tensions and upcoming report
Oburu confirmed that ODM is forming a negotiating team to push for full implementation of the agenda, noting that progress reviews with President Ruto show substantial advancements. However, the partnership faces internal divisions.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna opposes closed-door discussions on the report, vowing to hold a public rally at Jacaranda Grounds for independent evaluation.
