Preparations for Ruto’s State of the Nation address in top gear
President William Ruto’s preparations for the annual State of the Nation Address, scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2025, are currently in top gear.
In a statement released by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the party described tomorrow’s event, where the President will address a joint sitting of the Senate and the National Assembly, as a key constitutional duty.
During the address, the Head of State is expected to brief the parliament and the nation on the current state of the country.

The UDA Party noted that the President will deliver his annual State of the Nation Address in Parliament, a defining constitutional milestone that allows him to take stock of national progress, outline priority actions, and reaffirm Kenya’s direction under his leadership.
“Preparations for the State of the Nation Address by the President and our Party Leader, William Samoei Ruto, are in top gear.”
“Tomorrow, the President of the Republic of Kenya will deliver his annual State of the Nation Address in Parliament, a defining constitutional milestone to take stock of the nation’s progress, set out priority actions, and reaffirm Kenya’s direction under his bold and transformative leadership,” UDA stated.

According to the party, Kenyans are keenly anticipating a clear, confident, and forward-looking message from the President.
The address is expected to build on the continued implementation of The Plan, the administration’s blueprint for transforming Kenya through economic stabilisation, agricultural reform, affordable and accessible healthcare, dignified housing, digital opportunities for the youth, and broad-based inclusive development.
The UDA Party further stated that it stands firmly behind President William Ruto as he highlights the achievements made, the challenges faced, and the next decisive steps toward a more prosperous, equitable, and resilient nation.
Past state of nation addresses
It has been a constitutional requirement for every president to address Parliament on an annual basis.
During last year’s presidential address to Parliament, which came weeks after the impeachment of his then deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, and amid controversy and public uproar over the Adani JKIA takeover, the president dropped the Adani deal that was meant to support the renovation and construction of a new airport by the Adani Group.
This declaration earned him a standing ovation from the parliamentarians.
He also used the same forum to champion the registration of the Social Health Authority (SHA).
