Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen has pointed out the growing threat of digital fraud and transnational organised crime, stressing the need for stronger international cooperation.

In a statement shared on X on Monday, March 16, 2026, while attending the ongoing Global Fraud Summit in Vienna, Austria, CS Murkomen said Kenya continues to face significant risks from digital fraud attempts due to its leading role in digital innovation across the continent.

“Fraud has become one of the most pervasive forms of transnational organised crime, eroding trust in financial systems and threatening the foundations of the digital economy,” Murkomen stated.
