Mudavadi’s advice for Kilifi varsity graduates
Graduates have been urged to utilise skills and knowledge acquired while in institutions of higher learning to help them become better professionals.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said what graduates have learned in the university must help improve their ability to deal with the complex situations encountered in their journey into the future.
In a speech read on his behalf by the Chief of Staff at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Busiega, during the 12th graduation ceremony for Pwani University in Kilifi county, Mudavadi revealed the government is working towards ensuring key strategies and efforts aimed at empowering youth graduates are aligned with the demands of the current job market.
Social change
“We are witnessing a journey of transformation and I am here to remind graduands that transformation is not a one-time event but a continuously evolving journey of learning. More than ever before, it is important to adapt to the ever-changing circumstances, “ said Mudavadi, noting that these global challenges and opportunities will have an impact on Kenya’s economic and social transformation journey.
The PCS said the ability of the Kenyan youth in transforming the industrial sector should be a driving factor to attract investors rather than scare potential industrialists.
“Education is a catalyst for change. Those graduating today will carry with them the lessons they have learned, not just from academic materials but through their interaction with their lecturers, staff, fellow students and even the local community.” he said.
Mudavadi lauded the 1,714 candidates who have successfully completed their studies in diverse fields at the university, 51 of whom attained post-graduate qualifications.
