MPs to begin vetting Ruto’s PS nominees next week

Members of Parliament (MPs) are set to begin vetting persons nominated by President William Ruto to fill vacancies in the various Principal Secretary positions.
The MPs who have been on a two-week recess, which started on March 14, 2025, are set to come back to the House on April 1, 2025, ahead of the vetting of PS nominees on Friday, April 4, 2025.
The Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security will commence the vetting of Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim for the role of PS for the State Department for National Government Coordination on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 10:00 am.
Also, Stephen Isaboke will appear before the Departmental Committee on Communication, Information, and Innovation led by Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie for the position of PS for the State Department for Broadcasting & Telecommunications, which was previously held by Edward Kisiang’ani at 10:00 am.
Also set to appear at the same time is PS nominee for the State Department for Science, Research & Innovation Abdulrazak Shaukat, who will appear before the education committee led by Julius Melly.
Oluga’s vetting
PS nominee for the State Department for Public Investments & Assets Management Cyrell Odede will appear before the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning led by Kimani Kuria; Dr. Ouma Oluga, a nominee for the position of State Department for Medical Services, will appear before the James Nyikal-led Health Committee; and Jane Imbunya will appear before the labour committee for vetting on the position of PS for State Department for Public Service & Human Capital Development.

Equally, the Departmental Committee on Social Protection will be welcoming Carren Ageng’o, who was nominated to be the PS for the State Department for Children Welfare Services on Friday, April 4, 2025, while the Departmental Committee on Transport and Infrastructure will vet PS nominee for State Department for Shipping & Maritime Affairs Aden Millah during the same time.
Michael Lenasalon will also appear before the committee for Regional Development after he was nominated as Devolution PS.
Regina Akoth, PS nominee for Trade, will appear before the trade committee led by Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 12:00 pm. Fikirini Jacobs Kahindi, nominated PS for Youth Affairs, will also appear before the Committee on Social Protection, and Boniface Makokha will be vetted at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025.
PS nominees who will be vetted on Monday, April 7, 2025, include Judy Pareno and PS nominee for EAC Affairs Caroline Karugu, who will appear before the Nelson Koech-led Departmental Committee on Defense, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations.
