Mosiria vows crackdown on noise pollution from churches in Pipeline
Nairobi County Chief Officer for Environment Geoffrey Mosiria has raised an alarm over rising noise pollution in Pipeline, in Embakasi South Sub-County.
Taking to his official X account on Thursday, August 14, 2025, Mosiria warned that the county government will take decisive action to restore peace in the densely populated area.
Mosiria stated that while on an environmental clean-up exercise in Pipeline on Thursday, August 14, 2025, he was “deeply concerned” by the constant loud music from pastors and religious gatherings, which often runs throughout the day and night.
“Today, while undertaking environmental clean-up efforts in Pipeline, I observed with deep concern the increasing levels of noise pollution caused by numerous pastors and religious gatherings playing excessively loud music throughout the day and night. This is a densely populated residential area, and the constant noise is severely affecting the quality of life for many residents, especially children, the elderly, and those who are ill or working from home,” he stated.
County measures
Mosiria further noted that the county government would roll out urgent measures to curb the problem, insisting that religious freedom must be exercised in a way that does not harm the well-being of others.
“Nairobi County Government will take firm and urgent steps to address this issue,” Mosiria wrote on X.

Negligent landlord
This comes just a day after he exposed shocking living conditions caused by a negligent landlord in the same area.
Taking to his official X account on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Mosiria stated that he had personally visited the site following complaints from distressed tenants.
Upon visiting the said affected apartment, Mosiria says he found that blocked toilets had led to raw sewage spilling across floors and into bathrooms.
The stench, Mosiria says, permeated the entire apartment complex, creating a hazardous environment for residents.
“Today in Pipeline, Embakasi South, I was shocked to witness the deplorable conditions tenants are being subjected to by a negligent landlord. Blocked toilets have caused raw sewage to spill across floors and into bathrooms, creating an unbearable stench throughout the apartment building,” Mosiria stated.
According to Mosiria, the main sewer line appeared to have failed, yet the apartment’s management had taken no action to resolve the issue.
