Matiang’i mourns Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho in emotional tribute
The Jubilee Deputy Party Leader and 2027 presidential hopeful, Fred Matiang’i, has sent his tributes following the death of David Njuguna Kiaraho, the Member of Parliament for Ol Kalou Constituency.
Taking to his official X account on Sunday, March 29, 2026, Matiang’i described the late lawmaker as a dedicated and principled public servant.
He expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his Jubilee Party colleague, praising Kiaraho’s unwavering commitment to serving his constituents.
“It is with deep sorrow that I learned of the passing of my Jubilee Party colleague, the late Hon. David Njuguna Kiaraho, CBS, MP for Ol Kalou Constituency. A dedicated public servant, he represented the people of Ol Kalou with integrity and unwavering commitment,” Matiang’i stated.

Kiaraho’s legacy
Matiang’i highlighted Kiaraho’s legacy in public service, noting that his devotion to duty was evident throughout his tenure as a legislator.
The former Interior Cabinet Secretary extended his sympathies to the late MP’s family, friends, and the wider Ol Kalou community, acknowledging the profound loss they are facing.
“To his family, especially his wife and children, his extended family, friends, and the Ol Kalou community, please accept my deepest and most heartfelt condolences,” he stated.
“Hon. Kiaraho’s devotion to public service was evident in all he did. May the Lord grant his family strength and comfort during this difficult time, and may his soul rest in God’s eternal peace until the resurrection morning.”

Kioni’s tributes
Jeremiah Kioni, who is also one of the Jubilee Party deputies, has also mourned the late Olkalou MP, describing him as a dedicated leader and advocate for equality.
In a moving message on his X handle on Sunday, March 29, 2026, following Kiaraho’s passing, Kioni expressed deep sorrow at the loss of a colleague and friend, noting that the death of the Ol Kalou MP is a significant blow not only to his family and friends but also to the people of Ol Kalou Constituency and the nation at large.
“Having served alongside him in Parliament, one thing always stood out: Mhesh was a true fighter for equality. Whether it was in education, healthcare, or infrastructure, he firmly believed that every Kenyan deserved equal opportunity, regardless of background, tribe, or place of origin. He carried that conviction with courage and humility,” Kioni stated.
