KRA names Nancy Ng’etich commissioner, reshuffles leadership team
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced major changes in its leadership, as Nancy Ng’etich has been appointed as the Commissioner for the Shared Services Department.
The move, confirmed in a press statement and an X post by KRA on Thursday, September 11, 2025, is aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing service delivery, and driving organisational excellence as the authority deepens its revenue mobilisation efforts for national development.
KRA’s post stated, “We are pleased to announce key executive appointments effective September 11th, 2025, as part of our commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and enhancing service delivery.”
Nancy Ng’etich has been serving in an acting capacity since February 2023, overseeing organisational reforms, aligning HR with KRA’s 9th Corporate Plan, and championing technology adoption to support revenue mobilisation.
“Effective 11th September 2025, Ms Nancy Ng’etich EBS has been appointed as the Commissioner for the Shared Services Department. Ms Ng’etich has served as the acting Commissioner of Shared Services since February 2023, where she has overseen organisational reforms, HR alignment with KRA’s 9th Corporate Plan, and promoted technology adoption to support revenue mobilisation.”
KRA has highlighted her expertise, noting, “Her extensive experience in customs reforms, trade facilitation, and organisational development positions her well to drive continued excellence.”
Further appointments
Joining her is Doreen Mbingi, who will provide acting leadership for the Large and Medium Taxpayers Department. Mbingi previously served as Deputy Commissioner for Compliance East and South of Nairobi. She assumes her new role pending a substantive appointment, bringing with her a strong background in compliance and taxpayer services.
The announcement also confirmed the secondment of CS Rispah Simiyu to the National Treasury and Economic Planning, reflecting a broader restructuring within the revenue agency.
“Additionally, the following leadership changes have been effected in the Large & Medium Taxpayers Department: CS. Rispah Simiyu (Mrs.) FCCA, EBS – Seconded to the National Treasury & Economic Planning, Ms. Doreen Mbingi, Deputy Commissioner, Compliance East & South of Nairobi, has been appointed to provide leadership for the Large & Medium Taxpayers Department in an acting capacity, pending substantive appointment.”
The press release further read, “The Authority congratulates Ms Ng’etich and Ms. Mbingi on their appointments and urges all taxpayers and stakeholders to continue extending their support and collaboration.”

Strengthening institutional capacity
According to the press release, the KRA Board and Management underscored the importance of filling executive roles substantively while maintaining continuity and accountability.
“As KRA, we reaffirm our commitment to fulfilling our mandate of revenue mobilisation for national development, while delivering efficient, fair and transparent services to all taxpayers across the country,” read the press release.
