Kindiki backs mental illness campaigns

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called on journalists to speak out and join the fight against mental illnesses.
In a speech read by Meru Press Club Vice Chairperson Dorcas Mbatia, the DP lamented that many Kenyans continue to suffer from mental illnesses, adding that the government was keen to reverse the situation.
He praised the Meru press club for launching a mental health awareness campaign for journalists based in Isiolo, Tharaka Nithi and Embu counties.
Kindiki said his office will continue to support such initiatives to help mitigate effects of mental health.
