Former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has reacted after being appointed as the government spokesperson.

In a statement shared via his official social media account, Mwaura expressed utmost gratitude for the opportunity. He also appreciated President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua for the appointment.

“Glory be to GOD! HE is indeed so very faithful to those who wait upon HIM. What GOD has kept for you HE will surely make it come to pass no matter how long ! Many thanks to President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for appointing me as the Government Spokesman! So help me GOD,” Mwaura wrote.

“#Tbt 11 years ago when KJ, Wanga and I were 34 32 30 yrs respectively. We had ambitions to be MP, Woman rep & Senator respectively. We not only did, but also, Governor. Its l my first official day as Government Spokesman. All dreams are valid, Thanks to GOD #Inawezekana,” he added.

Mwaura’s appointment was announced by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

The appointment of the former senator comes as part of the reorganisation of the Executive by the President in accordance with Article 132 of the Constitution.

He will take over from Cyrus Oguna who resigned from the position in October 2022 after he was appointed to take up the position of Chief of Staff in Siaya county.

During the announcement made on Wednesday evening, Koskei stated that Mwaura will be deputised by former TV anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Gabriel Muthuma.
