IEBC sets dates for enhanced mass continued voter registration
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced that the enhanced continuous voter registration (ECVR) exercise will commence on March 30, 2026.
This according to a statement shared by the commission on Monday, March 16, 2026.
The announcement comes as the electoral body gears up to expand the voter roll, days after launching the voter registration, which has been recording low turnout among new voters

In preparation for the nationwide exercise, the Commission has implemented a structured, cascaded training programme for staff involved in the registration process. The training begins with content development by master trainers, followed by a Training of Trainers (ToT) phase.
The process culminates in cluster-level operational training for registration officers, assistant registration officers, and temporary registration officials who will carry out the voter registration across the country.
According to IEBC, the ECVR initiative is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure that all eligible Kenyans have the opportunity to register or update their voter details.
The exercise is expected to enhance accessibility and efficiency, particularly in areas with low registration coverage.
According to IEBC officials, they indicated that the structured training approach will ensure that all personnel are adequately prepared to manage the registration exercise, maintain accuracy in the voter roll, and provide guidance to citizens throughout the process.
“In preparation for the upcoming Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) scheduled to begin on 30th March 2026, the Commission has adopted a structured cascaded training model.”

“The training process begins with development of content by Master Trainers, followed by the Training of Trainers (ToTs), and culminates in cluster-level operational training for Registration Officers, Assistant Registration Officers, and temporary registration officials who will carry out the registration exercise during the ECVR.”
Shortlisted ECVR candidates
This comes days after they provided a shortlist of selected personnel for the ECVR.
“Kindly note that for those who applied for the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) temporary jobs, the Commission has shortlisted candidates and communicated to the shortlisted persons,” the statement reads.
The commission explained that the selection process is continuing as interviews are currently being conducted to determine the final group of successful candidates who will participate in the voter registration exercise.
“Interviews are currently ongoing. The Commission will communicate with the successful candidates and inform them when the training will begin,” the statement reads.
