Gachagua suffers huge setback as High Court upholds his impeachment
High Court Judges Eric Ogola, Freda Mugambi and Anthony Mrima ordered the government to pay former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Ksh50 million.
In issuing the order, the High Court has noted that the Senate violated Gachagua’s right during the Impeachment process.
The bench has found that the Senate subjected Gachagua to an unfair trial.
“The court awards Constitutional damages of Ksh50 million to his excellency Rigathi Gachagua to be paid by the Senate,” the bench ordered.
