Full schedule of late Olkalou MP David Kiaraho’s send-off events revealed
The Parliament of Kenya has shared the full schedule of send-off activities for the late David Kiaraho, the Olkalou Member of Parliament (MP), giving Kenyans a chance to pay their respects to the fallen legislator.
The series of events, shared by the Parliament of Kenya via Facebook on Saturday, April 4, 2026, will begin with an interdenominational church service at his Ol Kalou home on Sunday, April 5, 2026, from 10:30 a.m., allowing family, friends, and constituents to gather in mourning and reflection.
“Planned Send-Off activities for the late Hon. David Kiaraho Mp, Ol Kalou. Interdenominational Church Service at his Ol Kalou home on Sunday, 5th April from 10:30 am,” the statement reads in part.
A public funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the proposed Nyandarua University. On the morning of the service, Mr. Kiaraho’s body will be airlifted to Ol Kalou Stadium, from where a 4km procession will make its way to the university, where the official ceremony will take place.
For members of the Catholic faith, a Requiem Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s PCEA Church in Nairobi on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 12:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for prayers and remembrance.
Burial
The burial will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026, in Tigoni, where the final church service and interment will be conducted, marking the conclusion of the send-off proceedings.
“A Public funeral Service is scheduled on Wednesday, 8th April at the proposed Nyandarua University. On Wednesday morning, the body will be airlifted to Ol Kalou Stadium, then there will be a 4km Procession to the Nyandarua University, where the Service shall be held,” Parliament of Kenya stated.
“Requiem Mass at the St. Andrew’s PCEA church in Nairobi on Thursday, 9th April from 12:00 p.m.m Burial Church Service and Interment is scheduled for Friday, 10th April in Tigoni.”

Funeral committee
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula had set up a nine-member committee to oversee the burial arrangements of the late Ol Kalou MP.
Kiaraho passed away at Nairobi Hospital in the early hours of Sunday.
He died at around 1:20 am on Sunday, March 29, 2026, while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital, following a prolonged illness. He had been in and out of the hospital in recent months, seeking medical attention both locally and abroad.
