Here is what you need to know to keep up to speed with today’s happenings.
Gor Mahia elections
Gor Mahia FC is expected to conduct its elections at the Nyayo National Stadium basketball gymnasium.
Gor Mahia FC elections board on April 12, 2025, cleared the club’s outgoing treasurer, Dolfina Achieng Odhiambo, to battle it out with long-serving chairman Ambrose Rachier for the top seat.
The positions being contested for are the club’s chairman, which attracted two candidates, Dolfina Odhiambo and Rachier, who have been cleared to contest, and the vice chairperson position that has also seen two candidates, Sally Bolo and Victor Omondi, get cleared, with Sam Ochola and Nick Arum set to battle it out for the Secretary General post.
Philip Nyakwana and Gerphas Okuku will be vying for the position of Honorary Treasurer in the much-anticipated elections.
Oscar Sudi’s events
Kapseret Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi is expected to lead different fundraising events in Kiambu County.
According to the programmes shared via his official social media accounts on Saturday, April 12, 2025, the first event will see Sudi lead a fundraiser to support the construction of a new, modern megachurch in the region.
The second funds drive will focus on economic empowerment for Mama Mboga traders and Boda Boda operators, aiming to boost grassroots livelihoods and promote inclusive growth.
He will be joined by local leaders, senior government officials, and dignitaries from across the country.
FKF Cup action
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup action continues this Sunday, April 13, 2025, with four more Round of 16 matches on the cards.
Kenya Police will host Kapenguria United FC in the early kick-off at 1:30 pm at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. That match will be followed by an all-top-flight clash between Bidco United and Ulinzi Stars at 3:00 pm, with the Soldiers designated as the away team.
In other fixtures, Murang’a Seal welcome Kibera Soccer at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a, while Kakamega Homeboyz take on Shabana at Moi Stadium in Kisumu. Both matches will also kick off at 3:00 pm.
Politicians in churches
As per the norm, political leaders are expected to flock to different churches across the country to worship.
They are expected to take to the pulpit to make political remarks, with most remarks expected to revolve around the drama that was witnessed in Nakuru during the National Drama Festival that placed Butere Girls’ High School at the center of a controversy over their Echoes of War play.
