Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai has slammed Homa Bay Governor for allowing the daughter of the former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, to lecture her.

In a statement shared on his socials on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Alai has come out slamming all leaders who, during the party’s 20th anniversary in Mombasa, appeared to be dissatisfied with the party’s current standing in broad-based politics and wanted it to continue with its opposition stand.

During the ODM Youth League @20 celebrations, Winnie came out with fury, accusing some members within the party of trying to auction the party, saying that will not happen.

She said that the same people during the day purport to speak for the party but at night have ill intentions for the party, saying that ODM was born out of street protests and bloodshed and not bedroom and pillow talks, and that will not be the way of the party.

Alai has questioned how the top leaders could sit down and stomach these.

Alai has gone ahead to call out other leaders within the party who came out to reject the party’s move of being in a broad-based government and supporting President William Ruto in 2027, such as the Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

He labelled them as agents of the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, saying that they are managing to send what, according to him, are real members of the party out.

“It seems like the Wamunyoro adherents, led by Sifun,a are pushing out real ODM members from the party.  Chairman @gladyswanga and @JunetMohamed, don’t allow the jokers to have a field day in ODM at the expense of the interests of the party. How dare you allow a political neophyte like Winnie to lecture you like children?” Alai stated

“Winnie Odinga doesn’t have the political experience to give anyone direction in ODM. She isn’t even a party official.”

“THE fact that you are the daughter of Baba Raila Odinga doesn’t give you the right to insult female leaders in ODM by saying that they are sleeping with Ruto to sell the party IN BEDROOMS.”

“Your claim to the throne is because of the bloodline and not because of any unique thing you have done. Shameful to see you insult fellow women leaders.”

“It’s extremely surprising that a woman would use the bedroom stereotypes on a fellow woman to score a political point. Extremely unfortunate!” he added in a separate post.

He called upon Junet and Wanga not to allow such elements to have a field day in the party and to protect the interests of the party.

Cracks in ODM

These views by Alai align with the Mining Cabinet Secretary’s remarks during the event where he stated that it is only Wanga and other top ODM principals who have the capacity to speak on behalf of the party and not the other way round.

This comes after the ODM 20th anniversary celebrations, which were expected to be a unifying factor but now seem to show cracks in the party’s direction.
