Ten people have died in Lake Victoria after the boat they were travelling in capsized at Usenge, Siaya County on Wednesday morning.

Nyanza Regional Commissioner Karanja has confirmed the incident and says ten more people have been rescued. 

The boat had 20 passengers on board when it capsized.

The boat was destined to Usenge’s Nairobi Beach from Uganda.

The police boss said the boat capsized at about 5.45 am.
