You survived unforgiving times; carry your energy into 2023
Year 2023 sure feels refreshing! Like 2030 is surely around the corner. The number 2023 is so smack in the middle that I feel we need to get back to what we’ve been doing. But what have we been doing that needs to go on? Is it parenting on the highway, balancing an additional school term, or ranting at the school teachers when they won’t let your child sit their exam with an outstanding fee balance? Is it braving the challenges of employment or struggling business that leaves you wondering when the season will break? Is it the strained relationship with your partner that pushes you relentlessly over the edge of depression? What is this that we need to keep doing?
Keep being resilient
Let’s face it since the pandemic hit, many were thrown off-balance, and before we could recover, the election season landed. We saw the economy hit figures we’d rather not talk about, and for many, with nowhere to turn to.
There were barely any job offers, no salary increments, and more demand for productivity. After surviving such an unforgiving time, the least you can do is pat yourself on your back. You have outstandingly survived a time whose memory will intrigue future generations.
Keep going for the best
You now know what you would never want to feel at such a time. The wise say that we learn best through our experiences, and here, you just walked in the fire and survived it. If you put as much effort into your life as you did during the hardships, you will certainly achieve more in a calmer year. 2023 wants you to accelerate your goals, to help you pick up the pieces and recover what you lost as the world finally slows down.
The best thing you can gift yourself this year is loving yourself, loving who you are, and what you’ve turned into. Forget the pain that 2021 or 2022 brought. Instead, let the realisation that you made it to 2023 fuel your urge to chase your dream and finally be who you were destined to be. Welcome to 2023!
