Wanga hails formation of committee to fast-track UDA-ODM deal
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has hailed ODM leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto following the formation of a five-member committee that will oversee the fast-tracking of the 10-point agenda outlined in the UDA-ODM Memorandum of Understanding.
In an X post published on her account on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Wanga, who also serves as the National Chair of the ODM Party, welcomed the update on the implementation of the agreement.
She thanked both President Ruto and Raila Odinga for moving the process forward, congratulated the appointed committee members, and urged them to ensure the timely implementation of the people-centred issues captured in the MoU.
“Important update on the implementation of the 10-point agenda contained in the ODM-UDA MoU. I thank HE President @WilliamsRuto and Rt Hon @RailaOdinga for moving this process forward. As the National Chair of @TheODMparty, I congratulate the team members and urge them to ensure expedient implementation of the people-centred issues outlined in the MoU,” Wanga said.

5-member committee
President William Ruto and Raila Odinga have announced the formation of a five-member committee to oversee the implementation of the NADCO Report and a 10-point national agenda.
The committee, according to a joint statement issued on August 6, 2025, will be responsible for executing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between UDA and ODM on March 7, 2025.

That MoU set out to foster national cohesion and inclusive prosperity by addressing longstanding challenges to Kenya’s governance and nationhood.
“The committee will be responsible for executing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between UDA and ODM on March 7, 2025. That MoU set out to foster national cohesion and inclusive prosperity by addressing longstanding challenges to Kenya’s governance and nationhood,” the statement said.
The members of the new oversight committee are:
1. Agnes Zani — Chairperson
2. Fatuma Ibrahim — Member
3. Kevin Kiarie — Member
4. Gabriel Oguda — Member
5. Javas Bigambo — Member
A joint secretariat, led by executive secretaries from both the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has also been established to support the committee’s work.
The committee will be fully funded and facilitated by both parties.
The ten commitments under the MoU that the committee will oversee include:
Full implementation of the NADCO Report
Inclusivity in all spheres of public life
Protecting and strengthening devolution
Promoting and protecting the livelihoods of youth
Leadership and integrity
The right to peaceful assembly and compensation for victims of protests and riots
The national debt
Fight against corruption
Stopping wastage of public resources and promoting government efficiency
Protecting and promoting the sovereignty of the people, rule of law, and constitutionalism
