Sifuna visits Raila Odinga’s grave ahead of Kisumu rally
The Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna visited the gravesite of the late Raila Amolo Odinga in Bondo ahead of the Linda Mwananchi rally in Kisumu.
In a post on his official account on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Sifuna, who was in the company of other Linda Mwananchi leaders, expressed the significance of visiting Raila Odinga’s gravesite ahead of the Kisumu rally.
“I went to see my Boss in Bondo ahead of tomorrow’s rally in Kisumu. I have things to say,” Sifuna stated.
The visit to the late Raila Odinga’s graveyard by the Linda Mwananchi team comes as the team gears up for a rally scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, which will take place in Kisumu.
The rally, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna alongside Siaya Governor James Orengo, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and several other political allies, brings together senior figures within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) who have previously taken part in party‑led mobilisation activities across the country.
Linda Mwananchi stated that the event is primarily meant to thank Kisumu residents for helping identify individuals who attacked Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi in the city.

Police advisory ahead of Kisumu rally
As the Linda Mwananchi team gears up for the highly anticipated Kisumu Rally, the National Police Service (NPS) has issued a warning ahead of the planned rally, urging organisers and the public to comply with the law during the event.
In a statement by Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga on Friday, April 24, 2026, the National Police Service (NPS) assured that it recognises the constitutional right of Kenyans to assemble, demonstrate, and present petitions peacefully.
However, the National Police Service stressed that such gatherings must be conducted in an orderly and lawful manner to protect public safety.
“The National Police Service wishes to remind and advise the public to exercise their rights within the law and in a manner that maintains peace, security, and respect for our Constitution,” the statement read in part.
