Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi announces date for Trans Nzoia, Bungoma tours
The Linda Mwananchi movement will take its political mobilisation toTrans Nzoia and Bungoma counties in the upcoming week.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna announced the two-county tour in a post on X on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
“It’s a double header next weekend. Bash ifikie wazazi!” Sifuna wrote.
The announcement comes a day after the movement concluded its latest political activities in Taita Taveta County.
Two-county weekend mobilisation
According to campaign posters shared by the movement, the Trans Nzoia tour will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
The Bungoma County tour will follow on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
However, they do not specify the venues, rally times or the leaders expected to attend each event.

Supporters have been directed to the movement’s social media platforms and website for further information.
The visit will allow Linda Mwananchi to test its support in two politically significant Western Kenya counties.
Bungoma is home to National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula. Trans Nzoia is led by Governor George Natembeya, who has increasingly positioned himself as an alternative political voice in the region.
Sifuna has become one of the movement’s leading figures following his removal as Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General and Senate Deputy Minority Whip.
Linda Mwananchi has presented itself as a movement seeking to protect the opposition’s oversight role.
Its leaders have criticised ODM’s cooperation with President William Ruto through the broad-based government.
Momentum from Taita Taveta tour

The Trans Nzoia and Bungoma visits follow Linda Mwananchi’s tour of Taita Taveta County on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
During a rally in Mwatate, the movement endorsed Wundanyi MP Danson Mwashako for the Taita Taveta governorship in 2027.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino urged residents to support Mwashako in his bid to unseat Governor Andrew Mwadime.
“Mkitaka shida zenu ziishe, chagueni huyu Mwashako kama governor wenu,” Babu told the gathering.
Siaya Governor James Orengo also used the tour to associate the movement with the political ideals of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
“Nataka kutangaza ya kwamba ukikuja kwa mkutano wa Linda Mwananchi, ujue ya kwamba Raila yuko hapa,” Orengo said.

Suba South MP Caroli Omondi adopted a more confrontational tone against ODM’s current leadership.
“ODM imekufa. ODM imenunuliwa na Ruto. Kama wewe ulikuwa wa ODM, vuka uingie Linda Mwananchi,” Omondi said.
The Linda Mwananchi team has maintained that it is fighting to preserve opposition politics, constitutionalism and government accountability.
Its leaders have also rejected suggestions that the movement is seeking to form a breakaway political party.
The planned Western Kenya tour will now move that campaign into a region where ODM, Ford Kenya and emerging opposition formations are competing for influence before the 2027 General Election.
