Linda Mwananchi team arrives in Taita Taveta ahead of grand rally
The Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi movement has arrived in Taita Taveta County ahead of its highly anticipated political tour later on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
The delegation received a warm welcome from jubilant supporters who turned up at the airstrip to receive the leaders before they embarked on a series of political rallies across the county.

This comes days after the Linda Mwananchi movement announced a political tour of Taita Taveta County on Saturday, July 18, 2026, as the opposition continues to expand its grassroots engagements ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to the itinerary released by Linda Mwananchi, spokesperson, and Suba South Member of Parliament Caroli Omondi, on his X handle on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, the tour will begin at 10:00 am in Mwatate Town before proceeding to Wundanyi Town at 12:00 pm. The final stop will be Voi Town at 2:00 pm.
The announcement comes as the movement steps up public rallies across the country in a bid to popularise its agenda and strengthen support in different regions. Taita Taveta becomes the latest county to host the Linda Mwananchi caravan following recent engagements in Kisumu and Laikipia.
Linda Mwananchi tours disrupted by goons
The announcement of the rallies has come days after the movement’s rallies were marred by chaos and disruption by goons on Sunday, July 12, 2026, with the leaders blaming the state’s use of goons and police to disrupt their gatherings, swearing not to relent in their pursuit to remove William Ruto from the throne in the 2027 general elections.

This also comes after the former Bungoma Governor Wafula Wangamati officially joined the Linda Mwananchi movement led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
Speaking during preparations for Edwin Sifuna’s upcoming homecoming ceremony in Bungoma County on Friday, July 17, 2026, the former governor announced that he had fully joined Sifuna’s movement and would lead campaigns across Bungoma County and the wider Western region to rally support behind the Nairobi senator.
