Kileleshwa Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai has vouched for revolutionary artist Kasmuel McOure to lead the Orange Democratic Movement’s (ODM) Youth League.

Reacting to Kasmuel‘s video praising ODM for being pro-people and pro-Kenya party during an interview with a local radio station on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Alai expressed his confidence in him stating that he (Kasmuel) is fit to lead the party’s Youth League.

“This is the person fit to head @TheODMparty Youth League,” Alai wrote on his official X account on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

Kasmuel’s role in ODM

Speaking on K24 TV’s New Dawn show, on Friday, January 24, 2025, the revolutionary artist explained that he was more focused on popularising the youth in the ODM party.

Defending the move, Kasmuel maintained that through the ODM Youth League, he would be able to make a meaningful contribution that would help shape the scope of Kenyan politics.

“For me, I am particularly focused on developing the ODM Youth League because that will allow us to sit at the table not just as a heckler but as decision-makers deciding this is how we the youths want to be governed by the government in waiting which is ODM,” Kasmuel stated.

Kasmuel joining ODM

On November 10, 2024, Kasmuel joined ODM, a decision which sparked debate among the youthful population whom he associated with during the protests.

After a meeting with party chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Kasmuel said the party was out to revive youth and student leagues across the country.

“If you’re willing to join a substantive political movement for a fair, democratic Kenya where everyone can live with dignity, consider ODM party – the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa!” Kasmuel said.

“We’re revitalising the Youth and Students’ Leagues and are calling on passionate young Kenyans to help shape our future. Stand with us! Thank you, party chair Gladys Wanga, for your faith and for hosting us this weekend.”

Kasmuel’s rise to the public limelight was catapulted by his input and eloquence during Gen-Z’s anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests.
