Former presidential aspirant Reuben Kigame has appealed to Kenyans to vote wisely in the upcoming polls.

In a response on X on Saturday, July 12, 2025, Kagame implored Kenyans not to vote for political leaders who lie and want to perpetrate abductions in the country.

Kigame made the sentiments in response to X user, @Waweru_Mugo_, who was impressed by his speech during an event on Saturday, July 12, 2025, and asked the veteran gospel musician how he could help in his campaigns.

“I was quite impressed how you spoke at TRCS when you were the chief guest. How can I contribute to your campaign?” Waweru asked Kigame.

“The most important thing you can do for me right now is tell the people Of Kenya to ignore and avoid voting into office liars, abductors and murderers who have plundered the country and brought us where we are,” the former presidential aspirant responded.

The country experienced a string of abductions from December 2024 to January 2025, sparking uproar from various sectors. President William Ruto vowed to intervene and bring an end to the issue.

During a meeting with the Polish president, Ruto further updated the country, saying all those who had been abducted had been reunited with their families.

Exploiting the people

The veteran musician who in 2022 expressed interest in the country’s top seat went on to issue a rallying call, insisting that it was time to send home political leaders exploiting the people.

Kigame maintained that their time of advocating selfish agendas was up.

“Kenya has shown you how to retire unwanted politicians who ruin a country. We will soon show you how to get rid of them permanently. Time for the destruction of the continent and exploitation of the people is over,” Kigame said in another X response.

“We need young people in office. The old guard has betrayed the continent. Constitution or no constitution, the older politicians must now retire,” he added.

JFP deputy party leader

His sentiments come months after he was unveiled as the Justice and Freedom Party of Kenya (JFP) deputy party leader.

During his unveiling, Kigame urged Kenyans to come together and vote to find new governance.

“Look for your ID, Look for your voter’s card and get ready to vote in 2027,” Kigame said.

Kigame said the Justice and Freedom Party Kenya will provide mentorship to the Kenyan youths, specifically those aspiring to vie for political positions in the coming general elections.
