Jubilee Party Deputy Organising Secretary Pauline Njoroge, who is also eyeing the Nairobi gubernatorial seat, has raised concerns over voter registration records, calling for clarity from the electoral body on biometric data. She

In a statement shared on X on Saturday, April 4, 2026, Pauline Njoroge questioned the accuracy and communication around voter information, warning that unclear statements could mislead Kenyans and erode trust in the system.

Njoroge revisiting the history of biometric voter registration in Kenya, explaining how the system was introduced and applied across past elections, while insisting that most voters are already captured under the biometric system after IEBC conducted a fresh voter registration of all Kenyans in 2012.

“In 2012, IEBC conducted a fresh voter registration for all Kenyans, since it was the first time biometrics were used to register voters following the promulgation of the new constitution. It was during this mass voter registration that BVR kits were first used. In that case, EVERYONE who voted in 2013, 2017 and 2022 is definitely registered using biometrics,” the statement reads.

She then turned her focus to the current leadership of the electoral commission, urging the chairperson to provide specific and verifiable data instead of statements that may create uncertainty among voters and stakeholders across the country.

“In this regard, IEBC chair Ethekon should avoid making statements intended to cause confusion, and instead clarify the following issue for us,” she wrote.

Pauline Njoroge went further to outline that total number of verified voters nationally and per county should be made public and also the exact number of registered voters per county whose biometrics were not captured in 2012 should be made public, gabs she believes must be addressed to ensure transparency and restore confidence among voters ahead of the next electoral cycle.

“Total number of verified voters nationally and per county. The exact number of registered voters per county whose biometrics were not captured in 2012, and therefore have not had a chance to vote since 2013,” she wrote.

Pauline Njoroge called on the electoral body to provide clear, detailed, and consistent information as Kenyans prepare for the next year’s general election.
