Passaris pushes for early voter registration, warns against last-minute rush
Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris has asked the public to take the early opportunity and register as voters to avoid the last-minute rush in the nationwide exercise that commenced on Monday, September 29, 2025.
Talking to X on Monday, October 6, 2025, the lawmaker added that initiating reforms in leadership starts with having their data recorded with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) first.

”Continuous Voter Registration is Now Open. Don’t wait for the last-minute rush. Secure your chance to decide who leads your Ward, Constituency, County, and most importantly, our great Republic of Kenya in the next general elections in 2027. Visit your nearest IEBC office in your constituency and get registered as a voter today. See poster for more details,” Passaris said.
Esther Pasarris’s call for voter registration follows another appeal from Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili (Babu Owino) and Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, who have altogether asked the country’s younger generation to register as voters in their numbers.
Continuous voter registration drive
Seeking to become the next Governor of Nairobi City County in the 2027 general election, Babu Owino has advised the youth against ignoring the voter registration call, further adding that their votes play a critical role in voting for a responsible government in the next general polls.
”They want us to believe that the youth of this country are unmotivated. They want us to think that our voices do not matter. That our vote won’t count. Our voices will be heard at the ballot box. Tafadhali, tujisajili Nairobi ili tuweze kuongea kwa sauti moja,” Babu Owino took to X.

In the wake of forced disappearances and abductions of young people linked to anti-government protests, Babu Owino has argued that such incidents can only happen when the country’s younger generation takes part in revolution at the ballot.
”To my Gen-Z brothers and sisters, this is our time to register as voters. Let us address the issues of abduction, corruption, and poor infrastructure,” Babu Owino said on Friday, October 3, 2025.
On his part, Kakamega Boni Khalwale said transformation in governance starts with registering as voters. ”Good leadership is the principal factor of the success of any nation. No Kenyan should be left behind in choosing who becomes the President, Governor, Senator, MNA and MCA. I urge all our youth to register as voters,” Khalwale said.
