ODM launches grassroots and youth engagement campaigns in Kwale and Busia
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced a series of political activities beginning this weekend, following a Central Committee resolution aimed at intensifying party mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a press release issued on Thursday, June 18, 2026, the party said the decision was made during a meeting held on June 15, 2026, which resolved to continue activating party programmes and strengthening its support base across the country.

“Following the resolution of a meeting of the Central Committee of the Party held on Monday, 15th June 2026 that called for the continuation of the activation of Party programs and activities, the Party has planned the following activities beginning this coming weekend,” ODM stated.
The series of events
The first event is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Kwale County, where ODM will hold a grassroots leaders’ meeting and a public rally at Kwale Baraza Park in Kwale town.
According to the party, the meeting starts at 10:00am, and is expected to bring together local party leaders in a consultative forum aimed at re-energising the party’s structures and boosting support in the coastal region.

A week later, on Sunday, June 27, 2026, ODM will host a youth convention in Busia County at the Busia Polytechnic grounds.
The forum will gather youth leaders from all seven sub-counties of Busia to discuss the youth agenda and strategies to strengthen ODM’s membership base in the region.
“This meeting will bring together Youth leaders from all the seven sub-counties of Busia County who shall converge to speak about the Youth Agenda. They will talk about how to keep Busia County as the leading County in terms of ODM Membership,” ODM noted.
According to the party, both events will be attended by top national leadership, with the media invited for coverage.
“Both events will be graced by the top Party National Leadership.”
