Ndidi Nyoro reveals why he did not participate in Gachagua’s ouster
Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP), Ndindi Nyoro, has disclosed reasons for skipping the impeachment motions against the former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua.
In an interview on a local TV station on Friday, December 26, 2025, the MP revealed that he saw the ouster bid as a move that was politically instigated to settle personal scuffles.
“The debate, I was not in agreement with it, and I told people who were propagating it. Outside of no political consideration but out of other considerations, I will not be taking part in the impeachment,” Nyoro stated.
“By that time were still a team and accountable to each other, and because I knew it was our team that was pushing for the impeachment, and I had different views, so I communicated and made it clear that I will not be participating. I gave a rejoinder that any consequences that would come from that, I will not blame anyone, because for me (Impeachment) was more of a deeply personal reason.”

This comes days after the legislator also said that he skipped the impeachment exercise because it was not guided by wisdom, as though an assessment had been done on the impact of removing Gachagua from office.
“I advised on the assessment of how the issue would affect people, and that removing him depended on the explanation of the outcome of the incident. Unfortunately, no one cared about me,” Nyoro explained.
The motion to impeach Gachagua was tabled in parliament by Kibwezi East MP Mwengi Mutuse and was passed in October 2024.
“I advised that ideological differences would be resolved rather than personal differences. A bad assessment was made, and now here we are,” he added.

Nyoro-Gachagua tiff
The MP went on to reveal that even before the tabling of the ouster motion, his relationship with Gachagua was slippery, although it was not public.
“There were some unease between the former Deputy President, and by the time the impeachment came, we were friends but not as close as we used to be,” he said.
“We had to make decisions, one if I would be in the same position. Is that what I would expect from people who were my friends a year ago, and then I thought even if we are competing politically, I don’t think it would reach there.”
He added, “My second consideration was, am I the one who put the former Deputy President there? No, so how is it my role to do the otherwise?
