Munya, Kiraitu intensify campaigns for Raila in Meru
Meru county senior politicians have intensified Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga’s presidential campaigns, calling on the region to back him ahead of the August 9 polls.
Meru county governor Kiraitu Murungi and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya wooed the region to support the former Prime Minister claiming he is fit to lead the nation after Uhuru Kenyatta retires from office.
Speaking separately, Munya praised Raila for being the only credible and reliable leader among other presidential candidates eyeing the statehouse office.
“Politics is about interest and Mt.Kenya is this time around, behind Raila and not Deputy President William Ruto. We cannot afford to join the opposition, so let us follow the right direction where the politics of the country is heading because I can assure you,” Munya added.
Addressing residents at Igembe Tea Factory in Igembe South, the CS accused Ruto of spreading propaganda against the government and making empty promises to Kenyans ahead of the general election.
